Why do men go through so much to cover up balding?

I just don’t get it. My dad took a pill that made him lose 20lbs and he straight up told me that when I’m older I’ll understand. I’m 18 rn. This seems like a terrible approach, I would rather go through the day being myself than try to cover up something inevitable.

I always thought the “bald and proud” approach was a victory. It’s not a bad thing, and it’s guaranteed to happen to every guy eventually. I think most guys don’t look bad bald either. I feel like the pills my dad takes is proof that it’s not something to take pride in.
