I am an ex-Maoist, albeit a pre-teen one. I was once in an online chamber that talked about Maoist philosophy and engaged in discussions. I used to have a fairly optimistic view on the Third World, and thought that this philosophy was revolutionary and would change the world. But then I started questioning Maoist principles. I started reading a lot more about what they thought and how they operated. It was extremely far-right. I didn't agree with the worker capitalist dichotomy and found that Maoist leaders and dictatorships tend to be extremely authoritarian, violent, and suppress individual freedoms. I tried to tell some people in some online discussions and they were extremely rude and hostile. I had to leave for my own safety. I also started reading articles that were critical of Mao and his authoritarianism and I was very disappointed to see that I had been believing in a lot of lies this whole time. I don't blame myself for it though; it's hard to see things for what they are if you're just starting out. And that's why I'm here and I stick to rational and objective thinking for my own betterment. I just wanted to say this out loud.
