I am a financial advisor for >$300M in wealth, and I work with ultra high net worth individuals. I am not a financial advisor, but I play one on Reddit.

Holy cow this sub is active. I'm not going to write a long background but suffice it to say that I have a 7 figure income and a 5 figure net worth, but I work with people who have 8 and 9 figure net worths. I have worked in a 10 figure net worth portfolio, but I work with 8 and 9 figure individual net worths. I work for a large firm (we have multiple trillions of dollars of assets), and I'm a high performer. I like this sub because I am a real person giving a real perspective. I see a lot of big Redditors like r/chinabeat on the front page, but even though I'm not a big redditor, I think I can demonstrate a fresh perspective.

Ask me anything. I won't give you investment advice, but I will just tell you things that are true.

Edit: Holy guacamole. I'm trying my best to keep up but I can't. Please know I am not being lazy, I just never have been this popular with real human people before.
-
I don't mean to be an ass, but there are some questions I just can't answer because there are too many. If you want to DM me for a little bit of advice, I'm fine with that.
My best advice is to get a good education and work hard. Tbh those who struggle financially are usually not as hard working or motivated as those who are wealthy. Not always true, not helpful for those who already graduated, but it is what it is.

Please be aware that I am speaking from the viewpoint of a 30 year old with a good head on his shoulders. I am not a millennial, but am pretty close to it. Also, the young ultra wealthy are not like the old ultra wealthy, and I am not like them.

Also, I am in no way saying that the ultra wealthy are hard working, hard earned millionaires. Most of them have just been very lucky, but I'm not. I am also not saying that the poor are lazy, I'm just saying that many aren't hard working. I am sure many of you are. If you want to get on my shitlist, tell me how my 1.5M salary (maybe more this year) makes me a bad person, or how the wealthy are a waste of space. I have given a lot back to my community, I work hard, and I make people happy. I also work with people who are truly good, and have given a lot back to the world. This is not a zero sum game, and if you hate the wealthy, that's your problem and the world will be a better place without you.
