Made an epic fail today.

I had a 1.5lb of beef bones from the butcher and was going to make broth. Tonight I was going to make risotto, braised collards, and fried eggs.

I simmered the bones all day and my wife called me at 5:30 and was like, “Hey. I’m going to be late, I have to go to the jeweler for the ring.” I was busy and wasn’t paying attention and didn’t realize that I had to pick up my daughter from dance at 7pm. So I see that I have to pick her up and I was like “oh crap”. I didn’t have enough time to finish my meal so I threw all of the ingredients in the pot with the broth to cook the rice and collards.

No joke. The rice is cooked. The collards are tender, and even the eggs were cooked. I served it up and it was fine.

I’m eating it now. I feel like a total idiot but the food doesn’t suck.
