Are there any jobs where you can work 1-2 years, then take a year off, then come back to?

I know this may sound crazy, but I’m trying to transition to a job that has about a 1 year or 2 year contract - work for the contract, save money, then take a year off. I’d like to come back to the job after a year.<br><br>What industries or jobs are like this? Are there companies that do this? <br><br>I’m a software engineer as a career (although I’m stepping out of it right now)
