Does Man have a purpose?

DISCLAIMER: By man I mean humans.<br><br>I know this question has been discussed many times and can be found in several posts and comments, but do humans have a purpose in life? A big reason for this post is because of a two subjects in school which are making me question this. <br><br>Religion: in our religion class, we were discussing the Old Testament and stories surrounding Christianity. In Christianity, it is believed that man was created in God's image to serve God.<br><br>Philosophy: In Philosophy, we have been discussing the meaning of life. Socrates stated that man must serve a purpose for being on earth, if he did not, why should he live his life?<br><br>My questions to you are: <br><br>Do you think man has a purpose?<br>Why should we live our lives if there is no purpose?<br>If man does have a purpose, what is that purpose?<br><br>&#x200B;
