“Whatever is Lovely”

I decided one day that if I was going to be single, I wanted to be happy in my own space. I wanted to be content in my home. I didn’t want to be cluttered up with stuff I thought I needed to hold onto. I decided I was going to clean out everything and rebuild my life. <br><br>I started in my bedroom by cleaning out my closet. It was full of stuff I no longer wore. (No, it wasn’t still cute!) It was full of clutter. I went through each piece of clothing and thought about how it made me feel. Did it make me feel good? Or did it make me feel like a lesser version of myself? I got rid of the latter. I was left with ten dresses, six skirts, three pairs of pants, and four tops. I had nothing left. I was content. It was such a great feeling. <br><br>My thought process: <br>Don’t hold onto something just because you think you need it. <br>If it doesn’t make you feel good, then it’s useless. <br>Having unnecessary stuff will clutter your life. <br>If it doesn’t make you feel loved, leave it. <br>Philippians 4:8 states, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” There’s nothing noble about holding onto the past. There’s nothing right about clutter. <br>Whatever is lovely, keep it. If it’s not, throw it out.
