I woke up to a big hole in the screen on my window. I know what it means.

I live on the second floor of an apartment building. I was getting settled into bed. I looked up at the big window over my bed and saw I had a pretty big hole in the screen. My heart sank. It’s that time of year again. I peered into the hole. It was black. I didn’t see any signs of bugs, but I had a bad feeling. I considered using a flashlight to shine inside but I didn’t want to find out in the middle of the night. I went to sleep. This morning I woke up to a few on my ceiling. The war is on.
