AITA for forcing my way into my BF ex wife's house to look for my dog?

I have a 15-year-old Chiweenie dog named Olive that my family has raised since she was six. Everyone in my extended family loves her and she is very close to most of my siblings. <br><br>I’ve been dating my current BF “Mike” for six months. He has a 10-year-old daughter named Annie who he shares with his ex wife “Nicole”. My BF has full custody of Annie, but Nicole gets visitation once a month. <br><br>My BF, his daughter and I were out and about when we lost Olive. We think this happened when I bought her outside the car to pee and either forgot her or she wandered off. We looked for hours to no avail and finally, we returned home. My BF and his daughter were kind and vowed to help me find her. <br><br>Nicole recently called my BF to see if Annie could come and visit her for the weekend; he agreed. The day before Annie left, she told me she saw a picture of a dog on her mother’s phone that looked like Olive. I immediately called Nicole and she told me she didn’t see a dog but she would look around her property for Olive. <br><br>I went to Nicole’s house on my own because she wouldn’t let my BF in. I told her that I wasn’t there for drama but for my dog and she let me in but didn’t let my BF in. She looked around her entire house and said she didn’t see Olive. I told her that I wanted to check the house and she denied it, calling me a b!tch and a home wrecker (I was dating Mike AFTER the divorce, we didn’t date while they were together) I left and cried, telling my BF the situation. <br><br>Annie left later that night and my BF looked through her phone (he has access for emergency) and he found a picture of Olive on Nicole’s driveway. I called Nicole and she told me she still didn’t see Olive and she was starting to get mad. I decided to go and confront her. When I got there, she denied letting me in but I pushed passed her and looked around, eventually finding Olive in her daughter’s room. My BF’s daughter saw me and started crying but she eventually calmed down when I explained that I wasn’t there for her. Nicole got mad and called the police and had me arrested and charged with breaking and entering. <br><br>I still have the charges but luckily, it’s only a misdemeanor and my family and BF are supporting me. Nicole called my BF, mad that he didn’t stop me from doing it and she wants full custody of Annie now. AITA for breaking into an ex’s house for my dog?
