ELI5: Why do people like to get drunk?

ELI5: Why do people like to get drunk? They wake up, they are sick, they have a headache, hangover, and all you get is a slight buzz. Doesnt make sense to me, why do people like to get drunk?<br><br>Edit: Thank you all for the replies. I appreciate that you took time to write me a comment. I have not had any personal experiences with alcohol, and I dont really plan on it, I just dont understand why it was fun. But you all have been extremely helpful, thank you very much. I will probably never get drunk, because I can just do other things to have fun.
