What would you do if you woke up one morning and found out you were God?

[someone's already done this, so if you could tell me who I'll give them the credit they deserve].

You wake up in your bed, as you usually do every morning. You lie there for a moment before getting out of bed to begin your day. But as you sit up and swing your legs over the side of the bed, you get the strangest feeling that something is different. You look around your bedroom, trying to see what it is that makes you feel so strange, but nothing seems different. It's your normal bedroom, with your normal belongings, and the normal morning light shining through the blinds.

But the feeling remains.

You stand up, and walk over to your window to glance out of the blinds. You pull one of them down slightly, and peer through the slit. Everything looks completely normal. There are no signs of the apocalypse, no forms of massive destruction, no signs of anything unusual at all. It's just a normal morning.

You release the blinds, and stand there for a moment. Your gaze drifts down to the alarm clock on your bedside table, and you look at the time displayed on it. You see that it's still very early, so you climb back into bed, and roll over. You close your eyes, and begin to drift off to sleep, but an inaudible whisper in your ear causes you to open your eyes again. It's just two little words, and it takes you a moment to actually make out what they are. The first is "I," and the second is "am."

You pause. Am what? You roll over, and turn your attention to whoever might be in your bed with you. There's no one there.

You turn back over again, giving a small shrug. "I am what?" you say out loud.

You wait for a moment, but there's no answer. You shrug, again, and close your eyes. You're ready to fall back asleep when, once more, that inaudible whisper comes into your ear. "I am God," it says.

You stop. You even stop breathing, for a moment. You roll over once again, and look at the empty space in your bed.

"I am God?" you say. "What?"

Once again, no one answers.

You sit up in bed, and turn your attention to the window. You pull your covers off of you, and stand up. You walk over to the window, and glance out of the blinds, just as you did before. You still see nothing out of the ordinary, although you notice that there are no cars driving, and no one walking down the street. You do, however, see a figure standing in the middle of the road.

Curious, you pull the blinds completely down on that window, and walk over to another one and do the same thing. The figure is still in the middle of the road. You pull the blinds down on the last window, and the figure is still there, in the middle of the road.

For some reason or another, you come to the conclusion that the figure is standing there waiting for you. You don't know why, but you do. You stop staring out of the blinds, and walk over to your closet. You open the door, and peer inside at your clothes. You don't know where you're going, or what you're doing, but you decide that you need to get dressed.

You choose a long-sleeved white shirt, and a pair of blue jeans. You grab a belt, and a pair of white underwear. You walk back over to your bed, and set the clothes on it. You take off the pajamas you're wearing (you don't see why, but you have a distinct feeling you're never going to see these clothes again), and put on the new clothes you've chosen.

Once you're fully dressed, you walk over to the window closest to the door, and peer out of it one last time. The figure is still standing in the road.

Without another second's hesitation, you walk over to the door, and you leave.

You ignore the elevators, and walk straight to the stairs. You have no idea why, but something tells you that you need to take the stairs. You reach the door to the stairs, and open it. You step through it, and close it behind you. You look down to your left and see how tall the flight of stairs is. You look up, and see a figure standing at the top.

It's the same person you saw in the road.

"Who are you?" you call, your voice echoing through the stairway.

The person at the top of the stairs doesn't answer. In fact, they don't even move. They simply stand there, watching you.

You frown, and tighten your grip on the railing. You begin to make your way down, step by step, until you reach the bottom. You step off of the last step, and look around. You're in a concrete room, with a double set of wooden doors. You walk over to one of the doors, and reach for the handle.

As you touch the handle, you hear a voice, an inaudible whisper in your ear. "I am God," it says.

You stop, and look around. You still see no one, and no one seems to be paying attention to you in particular. You tighten your grip on the doorknob once again, and pull the door open.

You step outside, closing the door behind you. You look around, and see that you're standing in a tall stone alleyway. You look to your left, and you see that the alleyway stretches on for what appears to be miles. You look to your right, and see the same thing. You look behind you, and see the tall stone wall of your apartment building.

You turn back to face the direction you were originally looking. As you turn, you see that figure you've been seeing. It's standing in front of you, barely two feet away. You stop, and stare at it as it stares back at you.

"What do you want?" you say.

"I'm waiting for you," the figure responds.

"Waiting for me to what?"

"I'm waiting for you to do what you must," the figure responds. "I am waiting for you to fulfill your destiny."

"My destiny?"

"Yes," the figure says, nodding its head. "You see, you are God."

"You're the one that's been telling me that," you say.

"I am," the figure says. "And it's true. You are God."

The figure steps aside, revealing a wooden door barely ten feet away. You hadn't seen the door before, because the figure was standing in front of it.

"What's through there?" you say.

"What's through there," the figure says, "is what awaits you."

You stare at the figure for a moment, trying to make out what it means. When you realize that it's not going to answer any more questions, you step forward and walk through the doorway.

As you walk through the doorway, you hear the figure behind you say, "Good luck." You turn to look, but it's gone.

You realize, then, that you are alone.

But you also know that you are God.

What would you do?

[Edit:] - I'm not going to reply to any comments here, simply because I'm not really sure how. Also, I'm on my phone, so it's difficult to keep track of who replied to who in the comments. That being said, thank you to everyone who has replied so far. Many of your ideas and stories are quite intriguing, and have definitely inspired me to write my own story. I've actually already written a chapter, although it's not finished. I'll probably be posting it here, if anyone's interested. I must say, however, that the most interesting stories to me are not the ones where the God character does anything like create worlds, but instead those where they get more personal, introspective things done.
