I was kicked out of an airport lounge. What's considered acceptable behaviour and not acceptable behaviour in an airport lounge?

Hey guys. I was recently on a flight home for Christmas and had access to the lounge at the airport for a few reasons. I've visited airport lounges a few times, but never really spent a lot of time in one. For the first few hours or so, I ordered some free food and drinks and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Over time, I ordered more and more. I probably had a few more drinks than I should have. I was eating a lot as well.

I became a little more louder than I should have and attracted some attention, and one of the staff at the lounge came over to ask if I was okay. I said I was fine.

I'm a bit embarrassed about this but I went to the free food station, and I put some sandwiches, pizzas and snacks in my bag. The staff lady came over again and asked me what I was doing, I said I was just getting some food. Not sure if this is frowned upon but I've done this a few times at other airport lounges without an issue.

She called her manager and he came over and said I was no longer allowed in the lounge and I needed to leave now. He took my lounge card and told me to leave and not come back, and if I came back I'd be banned from lounges.

I thought that this would be pretty normal behaviour but I'm clearly wrong. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with what I did?
