What do you think about "Tactical" shotguns, e.g. Remington 870 Tac-14?

They've been super trendy for the last few years. I'm not sure what to think. Before you jump on me, I don't expect it to be an angel of death gun. I'm just curious what people think.

Pros:

* easy to maneuver with (it's short)
* 5+1 capacity
* doesn't require a tax stamp, so you can just walk out with it
* cheap
* easy to buy ammo for

Cons:

* illegal in some places
* bad range
* short sight radius
* super difficult to aim w/ out any sights
* mag capacity is low
* bad shots are incredibly lethal (it appears, but I don't know)

I'm just curious what the consensus was on them. I'm still on the fence about getting one. There's no doubt that it'd be a great, cheap gun to have around the house, but I'm not sure how useful it'd be for anything in practicality.

EDIT: Sorry guys, I didn't mean to make you feel like I think you're all drooling idiots. I was really just curious what people thought of them. I've been looking at them for quite a while, and I don't know if I think they're a good idea or not, so I thought I'd ask the community. I'm not trying to attack people that have them either, I'm just trying to get your perspective on them. I didn't realize the post would be so divisive, I apologize if I offended anyone.
