I [19F] live with my [19M] best friend and he seems to be struggling

My girlfriend is also in the picture but it wasn't till we got together that she made me aware of how much he is struggling. I don't know what to do as I love him like family (since we have been best friends since we were 13) and I don't want to see him like this.<br><br>He has been really sad for a really long time; I have noticed his spending habits have gotten worse since he has lost his job. It has made him super anxious and depressed. I didn't even notice it until I became friends with my girlfriend. She was the first to make me aware of how much he has isolated himself from everyone.<br><br>I'm worried that if things get worse I won't be able to help and he will end up on the streets, which would kill me emotionally. I plan to sit down and talk to him tomorrow but I would love any advice I could get on how to approach him on the topic without upsetting his feelings. I don't want to end up losing the project we are working on together; we both put in so much effort and this is his only source of income, which is small and we argue about spending; I have been covering the bills lately and I don't want to suggest he get a job just yet.<br><br>He is not really spending outside of groceries and necessities so I'm not expecting anything to change but I'm terrified it will change really fast and I will be stuck with a ton of debt and no savings.<br><br>If you have any advice or just want to chat feel free to send me a message :)
