My wife is from the McMansion of Solitude, where loneliness is a currency.

She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and the tears of the lonely encased in a bottle.

Her mother’s voice carried the weight of a thousand elongated shadows.

Her father was the silent guardian of the forest, and the trees sang the melody of his sorrow.

That's what she told me when we first met in the common room of the university. She was sitting in a chair made of wooden petals, surrounded by a chorus line of empty chairs. The ceiling was painted with murals of whispering winds, and the walls were covered with shelves of books that contained the stories of all the people in the world who had ever lived.

I was a TA for an introductory psychology class, and she was there to help me grade papers.

Her name was Spasilina, which means savior, and she was not like people from my world.

She was taller, older, and more beautiful.

Her hair was black and fell to her shoulders. It was made of the silk of a thousand spiders, and it danced in the breeze like a chorus line of ballerinas.

Her eyes were blue and clear. They were made of the purest water, and they sparkled in the light like a diamond.

Her skin was white and smooth. It was made of the purest marble, and it glowed in the light like the moon.

She wore a white dress that was made of the petals of a thousand flowers. We both loved nature and animals. We both loved our families, and we both wanted to have children of our own someday.

We both loved life, and we both wanted to live it to the fullest.

As we talked, I felt like I had known her my whole life. I felt like we were meant to be together, like we were soulmates.

I was amazed at how much we had in common, and I was grateful to have met her.

I asked for her number, and she gave it to me.

I asked why she was in my world, and she told me that she was sick of the loneliness.

I asked her how long she intended on staying, and she said that she didn’t know.

We parted ways, and I couldn’t stop thinking of her.
