I’m not starving myself to save money. You?

I’m a childfree 30 something. I get 1000€ per month after taxes, + 300€ from an app that gives me money when I walk. I live in a one-bedroom apartment in Italy. As you can imagine, rent is not expensive here, but I’m pretty much just barely making ends meet.

This is why, in order to survive, I have to meal prep. I eat a lot, and I’m a very active person who needs a lot of protein. I use 20kg of rice and 4kg of oats per month. I’m not starving myself, I just meal prep. Also, I never throw food away, so I eat leftovers and I even prep snacks.

In the last months I’ve seen a lot of meal prep content where people who obviously don’t need to meal prep still feel forced to do it. I think it’s a bad idea, and it would lead to malnutrition and weight loss. I’m starting to feel that the trend is unhealthy, and I’m glad that I started doing it almost 10 years ago before the trend.

I don’t live in the US, so I don’t know your situation, but here it’s not that hard to have 3 decent meals every day.
