My boyfriend and I have been together a couple months. He’s great and I love his family.

As a kid I was always told to never show up to a party without food. It’s just rude, and always make sure you have something to bring to the table for group activities. So I always have snacks on me.

I was going over to his parent’s house for dinner, and I had come from work, so I had a snack of popcorn and gummies in my purse. It’s not weird for me to have snacks on me. I used to have snack subscriptions that came monthly and I just had a bunch of snacks on me all the time. I love snacks and always bring snacks with me wherever I go.

We are talking as I’m on my way and my bf mentions how he hasn’t had popcorn in a long time. I asked him if he wanted any from my bag and he said yes. No problem.

When I got there, I was hanging out in the kitchen with my boyfriend and his mom. She was making dinner, he was setting the table, and I was sitting at the kitchen table playing with my phone. I offered him some from my snack bag and we were eating it. That’s when his dad walked in and saw the snacks.

I offered him some, but his dad was insisting that I should share it all with him. I was like no, this is my snack. I’m on a diet and I like to have a snack here and there and I was saving this for later.

He then yanked the snackbag out of my hands and opened the bag up and dumped it into his hands. I got mad and asked him what the hell he was doing and he was like, “I’m hungry.”

I grabbed my stuff and said, “Sorry, I’m going home.”

His dad started yelling at me for being rude.

My boyfriend and his mom said I was overreacting and I should have just shared the snack with his dad.

AITA? I think it’s just rude that he took a snack that didn’t even belong to him.
