The most common reasons why people don’t use productivity systems are:

1. Startup overhead
2. Fear that a productivity system will make you more busy and increase the burden on your mind (fear of a “system”)
3. Habits aren’t a thing yet
4. People coming in with high expectations, but giving up all too soon
5. “Build habits first. Then build a system.” (this one really bothers me, as it’s exactly the other way around)
6. Frustration when people find out that productivity systems aren’t as magical as they hoped them to be
7. Difficulty with creating and maintaining habits
8. Distractions
9. Giving up when identifying that a certain productivity system isn’t a good fit
10. Not understanding why productivity systems are good for them
11. No need to be productive, as you already reached a life milestone (e.g. retirement)
12. Nobody taught them how to be productive
13. They don’t see the benefits
14. They don’t know how to be productive
15. They don’t believe that they need to
16. They don’t enjoy improving themselves
17. They don’t know that they are inefficient
18. They haven’t had to
19. They lead a busy life, and don’t have time for it
20. They lead a life without problems, and don’t need to
