How do people work at stores and steal nothing?

I have only worked at 2 retail stores. Ralph Lauren and Dillard's. I have stolen so much. I couldn't help myself. I would bring the stuff I wanted in a back pack and then deposit that back pack in the employee locker room and then I would pack my things in peoples shopping bags and walk out. I got so comfortable to the point where I was taking shopping bags out of the stoke room. I also would steal the luggage out of the stoke room at Dillards. I never got caught but I always felt so nervous.
