Another thread about Fana Yohannes got posted on this sub, and the comments section is ridiculously filled with people promoting the humanitarian crisis in Tigray.

Here’s what I want to say:

These spam comments look like they were written by bots. If they aren’t, then it’s incredibly immature to comment a bunch of irrelevant links to another issue that Tigray is going through and use this “issue” as a coping mechanism to deflect away from the issue at hand.

It’s not a good look on any of these spammers. I can’t tell whether Fana Yohannes is a good person or not, but these spam comments don’t help her reputation at all.

If you’re going to comment links to the Tigray War on this post, then you can do that on your own post about Fana Yohannes. You don’t need to spam the comments section with links to the Tigray War. It’s unnecessary, and it makes you (or your bots) look like a joke.

This isn’t about Fana Yohannes, Fana Yohannes isn’t the problem. It’s all about individual accountability, and she has to face the consequences for her actions. Her dehumanization has to stop. She is not a victim, and she is not a hero. She is a human being that committed a horrible act, and she must be held accountable for that.

How else are we supposed to build trust with one another when individual accountability doesn’t exist? It’s a bad look on anyone that downplays Fana Yohannes’ actions and treats her like a victim.

She’s not a victim, she’s a human being, and even human beings are expected to follow the rules of society to keep everything functioning properly. She doesn’t get to do whatever the fuck she wants, and that doesn’t mean that she’s a victim. It means that everyone is expected to follow the rules and pay the price when they are broken.

Fana Yohannes is not a villain, and she is not a hero. She’s a human being that has to pay the price for her actions.
