I don’t like the fact that shonen anime has lifted off the brakes

I grew up reading manga, watching anime, and even creating fan art for certain anime. I stopped watching anime for a few years during my teenage years but started again by watching anime from this decade (2010s). I’ve noticed throughout my journey that the content that we’ve been getting has been getting darker and more risqué I can’t say that that’s a bad thing but I personally don’t like it as much. I do believe that anime can have mature content and still have a wholesome tone or atleast not be as dark as I’ve seen it become. I’m not talking about all anime, just specifically shonen manga/anime. The things I dislike about the new trend of shonen is the fan service, it’s actually not even that bad (I’ve seen worse) but I still don’t like it. The second thing I don’t like is how 90% of the time when an anime is made you can expect graphic gore and violence. I don’t like that. I used to love watching anime with my cousins and friends but now I have to think about who I can watch certain animes with. I personally find it very difficult to find an anime that isn’t filled with this type of content. I don’t hate the newer wave of anime, I actually do like a lot of it but I wish there were more wholesome shonen animes like there used to be.
