I often read posts here about how to be a better writer, and I have some thoughts that I thought useful to share as one writer to another.

1. **Your writing is your job.** If you want to be a writer, you need to make writing your job. I tell my family that I am working when I am writing, and they respect that.
2. **Set aside time for your writing.** Write at the same time every day. Maybe it is 12 Noon, or maybe it is 3 AM. It doesn’t matter but it needs to be at the same time every day.
3. **Write every day.** I don’t care if you have writer’s block. Just write. It doesn’t need to make sense, or make a narrative. Just…Write.
4. **Read what you write.** In my opinion, to be a writer, you need to read. Read anything and everything.
5. **If you need help ask.** We are all writers, we all want to help each other if you need constructive feedback on your writing, drop it here and we will do our best to help you.
6. **Be patient.** I think this is the hardest part of all. Your first draft is going to suck, and so is your second, third, fourth and so on. It takes a lot of work, and a lot of patience to get your writing to where you want it to be.

If you don’t like these tips, well I’m sorry. But I use these and they have worked for me.

Feel free to PM me for information on commissions, or questions.
