r/IndiaInvestments is now unrecognizable

Ok. So I've been active on this sub for more than 4 years now. It has been one of the most informative places for me as far as stock market is concerned. Back in the day, we used to discuss stock market, personal finance, investment options, economy, share holdings of institutions and big players, strategy, share knowledge, learn from each other and what not. It was like a community of investors. We used to discuss geopolitics to the extent it affects our economy or stock market. <br><br>It was not an echo chamber as far as politics is concerned since we used to have people from all parties, no party, right wing, left wing, centrists. We used to have intellectual discussions - not full of vitriol, personal attacks or sarcasm. Very rarely was anyone banned. <br><br>Also we used to discuss trading, technical analysis, trends, indicators and all that shit. Not anymore. <br><br>Fast forward to 2024 and this sub has become a mere shadow of what it was back in the day. One of the most active and popular commenters from the past was banned because he was critical of the right wing. And he wasn't even being vitriolic. Just stating the facts. He was one of the best commenters who knew a lot about stock markets and used to post very insightful comments. <br><br>Suddenly the admin decided that we couldn't discuss anything related to politics anymore. So now we are not even allowed to talk about GDP, economic growth, inflation, government reforms or policies. Not to mention any discussion about elections, political instability or conflicts. This sub is now basically a price discussion and pump and dump sub. We can't discuss anything related to geopolitics. Anything. Not even US elections, elections in China, elections in Europe, conflict in Taiwan, India Pakistan, US-Russia. Nothing. Why? We used to discuss all these things in the past. Why can't we now? <br><br>Now if you're critical of the government or right wing, you're immediately banned. Not even a warning apparently. <br><br>Why are the mods so strict about this? Why are they censoring everything? I've seen posts about falling GDP growth rate being removed, posts about recession being removed and many such posts. If we can't even discuss about the economy, what are we supposed to discuss in a sub about investing in India? Suddenly the mods are censuring everything. <br><br>It has honestly become extremely boring. It is not the same place it used to be.
