the most embarrassing part about being into cats is that they’ve been fetishized

what I mean is that even if “catgirls” weren’t in anime, I’d still be into cats. but I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of cat cosplay. I like it as much as I like any cosplay, and that’s not very much. plus adults don’t go around dressed as cats unless they’re in a furry. <br><br>but the fact that cats have been fetishized *at all* is such a bad thing. if I’m an artist who uses cats as a motif I’m going to be seen as “weird” or “kinky” even if I don’t engage in any of that. <br><br>anyway, I’ve seen *childhood cartoons* be fetishized in this way. So I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
