Under the new agreement, Thursday Night Football will be available to Prime Video’s 250 million subscribers worldwide without an NFL Sunday Ticket package.<br><br>According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the deal could cost Amazon as much as $70 billion for the rights to broadcast games for 11 years. That’s as much as 60% more than the league’s current broadcast deal with the major US networks.<br><br>In exchange, Amazon will hold exclusive rights to broadcast the Thursday Night Football package for a global audience.<br><br>It’s still unclear whether the platform will incorporate advertisements and commercials into the new broadcasts, or offer ad-free, subscription-only content.<br><br>The deal is expected to bring Amazon its largest profit since reaching a nearly $40 billion revenue in 2021.<br><br>Amazon’s first season of Thursday Night Football in 2022 broke records, reaching 17.8 million viewers per game.<br><br>Based on the viewership growth, the company expects the new deal will reach 20 million viewers per game.
