What if the continents were connected in a straight line?

They're connected to each other in the real world, but imagine a straight line of land traversing the whole planet, stretching from one side of the world to the other, passing through the middle of the oceans, extending towards outer space, and then circling back around. It would still be continuous land, just in a straight line, a rope, or a belt around the planet.

What wildlife would occur on this hypothetical planet? What about natural phenomena? What would be the climate, the geology, the atmosphere, the sea, the lunar cycles? What would be the path this straight line of land would take, if you were to do this to the earth?
