What if the entire world was a forest? How would human civilization be built?

Let me start by saying that this is a pretty high concept, and I don't need too much detail, but just some ideas.

Imagine a world where the climate, geology etc etc is exactly the same as Earth, except that the entire planet is covered in an ecosystem that is somewhat similar to a forest. In other words, there's trees, rivers, animals, and weather everywhere. There are mountains formed by the roots of these trees, and there's lakes, rivers, and even oceans formed by the water cycle. The trees in this forest are massive, with huge trunks and canopies that stretch so much they block out the sunlight at ground level.

Humans inhabit this world, and they live in societies similar to humans in real life, with cities, agriculture, etc.

How would human civilization be built in this world? What kind of technologies would we develop, given the abundance of wood, water, and nutrients from the trees? Would we be able to navigate the seas and oceans? Would cities be built in the branches, the trunks, or on the ground?

This is a pretty open ended question. There's no need to go into extreme detail, just any thoughts or ideas would be interesting!
