caramel mashed potatoes

I peel 2 large potatoes then chop them into 1 inch bite sized chunks then boil until they're very tender. After that I mash them in a bowl using an electric mixer then mix in a table spoon of butter, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a teaspoon of salt, and a half a teaspoon of sugar. After that I add in a quarter cup of milk then whip them with the mixer until they're very light and fluffy. Then I add in a heaping teaspoon of caramel syrup and whip them some more. Then I serve them.

I imagine you can use caramel sauce, dulce de leche, or butterscotch sauce as substitutes for the caramel syrup.
