Just got offered a job in Boston. Any advice on the area?

I just got offered a job in tech. I'm a north Jersey native, so I'm not sure the cost of living won't be over my pay. I'm expecting to be making $85k, but I also know Boston is expensive. This would be my first time out, too. I was hoping for some advice. <br><br>1. What's the best area to live in? I've heard South Boston and Cambridge. Is there anything else? <br><br>2. What's the vibe in Boston? What do people like to do? <br><br>3. For a non-driver, how easy would it be to get around the area? I've heard mixed reviews. <br><br>Thanks in advance.
