To those of you who won't wear a mask, I hate you

This has been annoying me for the past year and I'm sure I'm not the first person to write about this but here we go.<br><br>Why do people refuse to wear a goddamn mask? It's a piece of fabric that you wear over your mouth and nose. It isn't some strange new thing, healthcare workers and people in dusty areas have worn them for years without complaint.<br><br>I get it, it's not the most pleasant thing to wear but it's hardly world-ending. I've had to do 8 hour shifts in retail with a mask and it was fine, nothing happened to me.<br><br>Yet there are people out there who refuse to wear a mask, just because it's slightly uncomfortable, or their freedom is being infringed. It's honestly not making things any better at this rate, it's making it a lot worse. Places that wereunlocking down are now getting put into stricter lockdowns because of people not following the protocols.<br><br>If you refuse to wear a mask in a place where you're required to, fuck you. You're making this situation worse. I've literally had customers call me a slave for wearing a mask at work, like I have a choice. I have to or I won't have a job.<br><br>The hardest part about this is the amount of people who don't take this shit seriously, it's not just a bad case of the flu, it's a deadly virus that's killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. I know people who have COVID, one of whom is in her early 20s and is moderately asymptomatic, but I also know of someone who caught it in their 20s and is now in intensive care.<br><br>This isn't worth the risk of catching a potentially deadly virus. <br><br>If you refuse to wear a mask because ofComfort/freedom/whatever, fuck you. You're putting lives at risk and you're making this situation a lot worse than it needs to be.
