Wasn't the whole "just be yourself" thing a lie?

The #1 most annoying thing in life as a male is the lie that was fed to us about "being yourself."<br><br>The entire fucking world, including your parents and even your friends, will tell you to just be yourself, but in reality, nobody actually likes you for who you are as a person.<br><br>When you are born, you are already predestined to be a slave to society. Everyone's expectations for you are to obey them, to work for them, to exist for them.<br><br>Women will say, "just be yourself," but they don't actually want you to be yourself. They want you to be their fantasy, to be the provider, to be the white knight, or to be the bad boy, or whatever their fetish is.<br><br>Your parents will have expectations of you to be a great achiever in life, to make them proud, to make a good living, etc. But if you actually just "be yourself," you'll most likely fail or disappoint them in some way.<br><br>The world doesn't want you to be yourself, because if you actually are yourself, that means you can't be controlled by them. You will think for yourself and live your own life. How dare you!<br><br>So the next time your parents or a woman tells you, "just be yourself," you should respond with, "fuck off. You don't actually want me to be myself. You just want me to be a slave to your expectations and fantasies."
