I know that there are a lot of questions regarding AI taking over jobs. I am a software developer and this summer I am going to do an internship. However, I have already been told by my colleagues that the company is in the process of automating my job, so the following internship will be my last one and I have to find another job.

I have mixed feelings about AI. I think that it is cool to have chatgpts and other tools that help us with our jobs, automate a lot of processes etc. However, I also feel that people like me, who just started, are losing their jobs to ai. I know that this is nothing new. I remember my parents telling me that when they were little, an elevator operator was a real job where a person clicked the buttons and when elevators became automated, the elevator operator went away. I know that there exist entire websites dedicated to obsolete jobs where you can find this kind of job and others.

However, the fact that we are seeing so much complain about people losing jobs to ai just makes me wonder, is this the future? Sure, new jobs are created, but as my dad constantly asks, what kind of jobs? Will there be any kind of job for humans in the future or a lot of professions will become obsolete? And with people losing jobs, what happens to the economy?
