Hello, fellow humans. I've thought about this a lot since I came to this website. It occurred to me that this is a problem that is so big and important, yet so easy to solve.

Now, before I go into my points, I want to express one thing. Many of you are good, intelligent people, who work hard and pay taxes. You are better people than me, and you deserve your wishes to be acknowledged. But, whether you admit it or not, you don't live in America. You don't know the average American citizen, you don't know American politics, you don't know American newspapers and you don't know how American people think.

This isn't because you're stupid, you know the above things about your home country. I shouldn't have to tell you that we can't just substitute America with Germany or whatever country, and expect the logic to stay the same. But, you still insist on influencing American elections. Why? I'm not stupid, I know you have to deal with the President of the USA, I know that he affects you. But, do you know the solution for that? Move to America, become a citizen, help pick the next candidate who will be President. It's as easy as that. But, no, I don't have the time or the means to do that, so I'll just influence it from afar.

But, what if everyone who has to deal with the President thought like that? We'd be voting with people from every European country, Australia, Oceania, China, India, Canada, South America, Africa, Japan, Korea, and more. Do you know how many people that is? All of them would be voting without knowing anything about the average American. All of them would vote for the person who caters to THEIR country's needs, and not for the person who caters to the needs of the USA.

I know that I sound nationalistic and xenophobic, I'm not. I think all humans are friends, and we came to this website to talk to each other as fellow human beings. But, you have to admit, this is a problem, and it will only get worse. This is a democracy, we need to think about the majority. I'm not saying people from other countries are less than us, or inferior to us. What I am saying is that for every American, there are 10 people influencing the election from other countries.

The odds of people from other countries knowing anything about Americans is slim. The odds of Americans knowing anything about the average person in another country is slim. And, I realize that I don't know anything about you, and vice versa. The day that we can read minds, and we can see what others see, is the day that we can all vote for the leaders of every country.

But, until then, isn't it better to just vote for the leaders of your own country? Do you know the average citizen of your country? Did you know that politicians in your country are either on the left or the right? Or are they on the far left or the right? Do you know what the major newspapers in your country are, and what side they cater to? Do you know if they're independent, or if they're controlled by the government?

Do you know the laws of your country? Do you know the rights you have? Do you know how your country's government works? Do you know when the next election is? Do you know who the major candidates are?

If you answered no to any of those questions, you shouldn't be influencing or commenting on American politics. Your opinions are biased, not because you're stupid, but because you don't know anything about America. If you do know something, good for you! You're better than me. But, I know that in reality, you don't.

So, let's just agree not to talk about American politics until we do. Until then, Americans will decide what's best for Americans. And, I think that's how it should be. Americans shouldn't comment on elections in other countries unless they live there, and vice versa. This is the only way that democracy can thrive.

Edit: People from other countries are allowed to vote in the upcoming elections! Trump supporters, Biden supporters, whoever you are, please know that if you aren't American, you shouldn't be voting. Hell, I'm not even American, I'm Canadian, but I still know that Non-Americans shouldn't vote.

This is ridiculous. I'm glad that I'm Canadian, not American.

If you think I'm wrong, please tell me why.

Edit: I just want to acknowledge this quote from a user here.

" You just argued that I shouldn't have a say in American politics because I'm Australian, yet the US has military bases in Australia, participates in our trade agreements and has service personnel in our country. Yet, I have no say on how those interactions take place. You can't have it both ways. "

This is a perfect example of the problem I've been warning about. They think the US has military bases in Australia. They think that the US participates in their trade agreements. They think that the US has service personnel in Australia.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM.

What they really mean is that the USA and Australia have military bases in both countries, they have joint trade agreements, and they both have service personnel in each others' countries.

I'm not saying that they're stupid, I'm saying that they don't even know how their own country works with other countries, let alone the USA.

And, that's not their fault. How are they supposed to know this? It's not like we have telepathy. It's not like we can see how others see.

So, let's just acknowledge that we have different perspectives, and let's go our own way.
