In life, you'll be okay if you work hard and play by the rules. That's a fact, not a myth.

I'm not saying there are NO exceptions whatsoever, HOWEVER, the overwhelming majority of the time, everything will work out for you personally in life if you just put in a bit of effort. It's not like 1929 famine ridden depression era Earth where it was a daily struggle to survive. If you live in a first world country, you likely have access to clean water, food, shelter, and a computer.

You don't have to work a high stress job to make a lot of money either. You can pick a high paying job that you enjoy that is low stress. Everyone has their own definition of "a lot of money" and "low stress" and "enjoyable" and there are jobs out there for everyone.

This also isn't to say that things will work out for humanity as a whole, but on an individual basis, things really aren't that tough.

Of course, there are exceptions.. If you were born with a disability, then I'm sorry, life may be tough for you. But the title of this post says it's an unpopular opinion, not an unpopular fact. This is an opinion that a majority of people agree with, but won't talk about because it's not polite and appears pretty dickish to those who DO have bad lives.

Also, I'm making this post on a computer in my bedroom while eating fries and sipping on a cup of borscht that my mom made for me, so this is obviously very much a "pray for those less fortunate" moment.

This is a guilty pleasure of mine, I love reading r/confession and seeing all these posts like "I'm a dentist and I tighten peoples braces way too fast to get them in and out of my office faster because I'm lazy." Honestly, if you aren't winning at life, that's your own fault. Learn to play the game.
