CMV: US military bases should be removed from Japan entirely

I am Japanese and for the last several years, I have been against the US military bases in Japan.<br><br>**Here are my reasons:**<br><br>* **Okinawa is not even the mainland part of Japan**: The southern islands of Okinawa is literally a separate country from Japan. It was taken over by the Satsuma domain (a part of Japan) in 1609 and Okinawa has been against the US military bases ever since the bases were established. <br>* **The US military in Okinawa commit crimes without accountability**: For example, the rape of a young Okinawan girl by US marines in 1995 was infamous. The most recent incident being the US marine driver was driving drunk and killed a Japanese 61 year old man in Okinawa.<br>* **Japan pays the cost of the US military bases**: The US military bases are now being constructed to relocate in the Camp Schwab area but Japan is paying the cost for this relocation. Isn't this absurd? I mean why can't the US pay the costs for its own military bases?<br>* **The Japanese government has no power against the US**: In the treaty of San Francisco, Japan virtually gave up its rights to fight for war. The government of Japan is fully aware of the ongoing rape and murder incidents caused by the US military personnel but the government is simply unable to take legal actions against such crimes committed by US military personnel and members of their family.<br><br>These are my reasons why I think the US military bases should be removed from Japan entirely.<br><br>If you can change my view, then I will give you gold.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: Thanks guys. It has been very interesting to hear the different perspectives. I admit it is difficult to demand the removal of the military bases throughout Japan. I am willing to admit that my extreme views and decided to remove it from the title. BUT the US military bases in Okinawa needs to be removed.
