Why do some people steal things that aren’t for them or their needs?

For example, I remember this case where a woman stole $17 million worth of luxury hand bags. She was arrested multiple times yet continued to do it anyway. Another one was a billionaire woman, I forgot her name. She got arrested for shoplifting 3 times, one time she even stole a pair of $300 jeans that she was wearing when she was arrested, lol.<br><br>Also, I know a person on here who’s an old, retired man who has no need for anything and has told us in the past that he’s stolen millions of dollars worth of things from stores and online, he even bragged about it in the past. He said he’s been doing it for over 20 years without ever getting caught. If he has no need for anything then that’s a lot of money going to waste. <br><br>I, personally, don’t steal anything that I don’t need. There’s been times when I got caught and it was terrifying. I don’t understand the kind of thrill that people get from it.
