(I'm a student nurse) I ripped up my bf's ex's "letter from the heart" that she wrote him

I (22F) am a student nurse and my boyfriend (23M) is an intern (he's a medical doctor). Yesterday I had to go to his hospital to drop off some papers for him. <br><br>As I was walking to his department, I saw his ex girlfriend (also a doctor there) standing at the nurse's station, and I saw her give my boyfriend a letter. She walked away before I reached him, and she saw me. My boyfriend was immediately starting to read the letter, but I asked him "hang on, did she just give you a love letter or what?!" (just jokingly, but I seriously was curious lol). He said "yeah basically! We'll read it together once you and I have a moment to ourselves". I was like "eh, give me that!!" and I grabbed it out of his hand and read it.<br><br>It was a long letter basically saying, in the style of Bridget Jones Diary, that she was still in love with him, and she misses him so much. It was saying that she realises now how stupid she was when they broke up over her jealousy, and that she has changed. A lot of it was quotes from movies and books and it was generally all very sappy. I rolled my eyes and I said to my bf "wow, she's sooo crazy! Ugh, I can't stand her". Then, in front of all the staff there, and right next to her (she was still within earshot, she was looking at me and she saw me holding the letter), I ripped it up into a dozen pieces and threw it in the nearest bin.<br><br>She later messaged my boyfriend asking if he had "got her letter?", and he told her what I had done, and she was *furious*. She called me a psycho, and said "I knew it! She's jealous of me, that's why she's doing this". My boyfriend has been laughin about it the whole time, but I'm starting to feel bad. Honestly, I just didn't even think about it. I just did it. And now I'm thinking about it, and I feel bad. But also I'm just like... woman, you were *right there*, and you gave that letter knowing I was there and I saw you give it to him. <br><br>Does that make me a bitch? What would you do in my shoes?<br>**TL;DR:** I saw my boyfriend's ex give him a letter, so I grabbed it and read it and ripped it up. Ex is furious, I think I might be a bitch.
