I’m very skeptical about the functionality of ChatGPT

Let me start off by saying that I am very excited of the ethical and philosophical implications of ChatGPT. But, when I actually use ChatGPT, I find it is not as functional and useful as people give it credit for. It’s basically an auto-recommended words Google search results but worse. I type a question or prompt in and it just responds with maybe three paragraphs of very basic facts that I already know, and very basic canned responses. I could do a simple Google search and get better results way faster. I can’t imagine writing a research paper based on this AI. I can’t imagine coding with this AI. I don’t understand why anyone would use it as a search engine. It’s not very useful at all. It can only do basic things. It’s not impressive to see it do basic things. This is very over hyped and I don’t think we really have any software like this. We don’t have ChatGPT or Perseverance. It’s not very useful of a product currently. It’s still an over hyped proof of concept. You could just do a Google search or go to DuckDuckGo and get the same or better results. I don’t see the point of this service or why anyone uses it.
