Hello,

I'm an English teacher. In addition to working at a university, studying, and doing some freelance translations, I also tutor. I tried to get a DELE exam for Spanish and gave up fairly quickly. I never have time and energy to do anything in my life. But I still dream of speaking a lot of languages. There's this magical feeling of being able to win people over with other languages. I just finished a tutorial session for the university entrance exam and tried an English-speaking man. He was immediately more open with me. Even though English isn't my native language, it's still *something*.

When I studied at the University of Vienna, I had a friend who spoke Chinese (fluent), Japanese (B1), English (native), Spanish (native), German (C1), French (B1), and Korean (A1). I was impressed. And I am still impressed. He is about to get his Ph.D. I'm going to try to learn Spanish again. I'm not even sure how motivated I am, though.

So, what keeps you motivated to learn another language?
