I've been a waitress for 12 years and I can confirm the "streamer tip" glitch in the matrix is real.

I dont know if this is considered a glitch but its really weird and then I saw a video of a streamer at a restaraunt tipping his waitress $1000 and I realized I have experienced this. Twice.<br><br>Back in 2017-2018, early Instagram was all the rage and anyone could go viral and gain 100,000 followers overnight for nothing, kind of like Tiktok today. <br><br>This guy comes in my section and he gets a glass of wine and his meal. He is by himself. He was a really nice guy, fairly young, dressed well. He asked me if I had Instagram and I wanted to laugh but I didnt, and I was like yea I do.... he showed me a post he had of picture of a glass of wine and a steak. It said something like "have the best server and tip them $1000 surprise them, I will match the tip if you tag me in it." it had around 500,000 likes and 30,000 comments. <br><br>I was kind of in awe by this, not really sure what to do. I had never heard of this at the time so I didnt know this was a thing people were doing to go viral, but it seemed like a fun idea. I sarcastically said I can play along with that and he said no, I really want to tip you $1000 and he showed me his bank account on his gps phone. I was amazed again. I never had anyone do this before, but I had heard rumors of this glitch in the matrix. <br><br>We used a computer to put in orders at my work, so I type in my order and he tells me to give myself the $1000 tip, he also wanted to pay on card. He said that was the only way he would know that i received the money. I did this and he had another drink and finished his food and left. I was like.... did I just dream that? Until I saw the post on Instagram a few days later, I had 100,000 views and I was like damn. This was insane. Sometimes I wonder if I just made it all up but then I remember the post and the video he posted. <br><br>I have been a waitress for 12 years and that has only happened to me one time at this new job I'm at I had a table of two couples ask me about the tip glitch in the matrix and they said they had heard people are tipping $1000 and asked if I had ever heard of that before. I told them my story and they were shocked but thought it was cool. the guy ended up tipping me $40 on a $60 bill, not bad. But not $1000.
