I know this is gonna get downvoted but my only 2 goals in life are to have 1) a child with a woman I love and 2) financial security.

My parents left me a house when they died a few years ago. I sold it and it basically paid for college.

Now I’ve got a good job in a field that I enjoy. About 100k/yr. I’m not too keen on having other kids. I just want one. I’d be perfectly happy with a stay-at-home wife. It’s my dream.

I’ve got enough saved up to live comfortably for 2 years if I lose my job. I’m 23 years old. I’ve only had 2 relationships that were both long distance and they didn’t work out. I’m not gonna settle to have a kid.

I’m just kinda curious as to how much money I would need to make to support a wife and a kid without them having to work. I don’t want them to be struggling with our budget. I just want an easy life where we can all be happy.

So what would a single man need to make in order to have a family on a budget of 2k/month for his partner and kid?
