Why do some men stop being nice to women when they find out that they're not interested romantically/sexually?

Men approach women with a smile,having a conversation,doing nice things for women,fake acting as a friend etc etc. But why some men suddenly behave differently when they find out the women isn't interested in them? (I'm true too)
