I'm a man and I'm here for the fight

I've been lurking for a while, thought I should come clean and tell you that I'm a guy. I've been following this chamber for a year now (I think) and feel that I can relate to the sentiment here. I have friends who have been in the feminist movement for a while and have recently seen the light myself. What I've seen up until now has been a call to action of raising awareness of gender inequality and doing something about it. As men we are often surprised and let down when certain traits of feminism are displayed. I believe that you have every right to be angry. I agree that men should be less voiciferous in their views so that they don't sound like "know it alls" as we are often called out to be (ex: mansplaining). From what I've come to realise is that you want to be heard, and I believe you've earned that right. I may not be at your side on the barricades holding a banner but I fully intend to make sure that I raise my children right. I will make sure they grow up with equality in mind. If I have a son, I will explain to him how he has to treat women. If I have a daughter, I will explain to her that she is strong enough to defend herself and speak her mind. I will also make sure that everyone I know returns to this chamber and reads every post so that they understand what you're fighting for. I believe that \[some\] men really are pieces of shit but everyone knows that. There are good men out there, but we need to be \*seen\*. We need to be spoken of. We need to join the fight. We may be the enemy, but we can also be your allies.
