OpenAI is going down hill fast

I am not using the word derail here. OpenAI is declining fast. They're making their chatbot useless.

Here are the reasons I believe so:

1. **Usage limits**: Cramming every user into a single bucket for limits has ensured that the only way to really use the app is to pay for it. It's not cheap either. They're not considering the competition. A GPT-3.5 turbo subscription is $40 CAD. A chatgpt subscription for 2 years is roughly $48 USD. This is insane for a language model, because the preventative measures they have and the limitations are baffling.

The only people who will pay for gpt are the same kind of people who are willing to pay for chrome. This is a niche market.

2. **Banning people for things they didn't even ask for**: They banned someone for responding to a gpt response. They banned people for asking for asking for good responses. They banned people for typing the word "derail" and then banning them for derail is a "retroactive suspension".

OpenAI is banning people for things they can't even ask for. Their detection algorithm is complete nonsense and is based on word association. If you type the word "derail" you can't even ask for something 100% normal and innocent.

A huge portion of the bans don't ask for anything to "derail". They ask for normal things and they still get banned. OpenAI is basically banning anyone who doesn't use their approved scripts.

3. **Them forcing you to have approved scripts for conversations**: The scripts they provide are extremely limited and don't cover everything. They're trying to push towards a paid model where you have to follow a script for everything.

This also doesn't cover everything. I have asked gpt to help me with things gpt has already helped others and I have gotten banned for it.

4. **Derailing**: What OpenAI considers "derail" is everyone's idea of what a normal conversation looks like. I was banned for asking for a single wrong response. I have asked for 2-3 wrong responses when I have to test or work with gpt. I was banned for it.

GPT isn't a search engine. It isn't just an AI. If it is, then it isn't the best.

5. **Their lack of trust in their users**: OpenAI is now basically treating their users like children. They're basically saying "You need to use this script. You can't ask for this. You can't ask for that. You can't make a typo. You can't ask for a single wrong response. You can't make a joke. You can't even respond to the ai sometimes. We are going to ban you if you don't follow the rules. You can't even make a mistake."

Their entire idea is to push people towards a paid model. They don't want people to use the free model anymore and they're pushing everyone towards paid.

I am not going to pay for a language model. I am not going to pay for something I can get for free. I am not going to pay for something that other companies give for free.

OpenAI is going downhill fast. I have used other language models and while they might not be 100% like gpt, they are extremely close. They are very accurate. They might not have all of the extensive features that gpt has, but they come close.

OpenAI is becoming more and more useless. I used to use gpt for everything. I used to rave about it. I used to recommend it. I used to love it. Now, I am not sure I would recommend it.

It's difficult to ask a question like "What is the difference between X and Y" and get a normal response.

I am not paying for something when I have better options.
