I was tired of the rules, so I made a new sub

All recipe posts must be budget conscious recipes. Any post that could be interpreted as rich food will be removed. If you don’t know what I mean by rich food, it’s everything posted on r/cooking. It should cost under $2 per serving, but the cheaper the better. It’s OK if your post isn’t a recipe, but you still must make sure that it is budget conscious.

We require TIFs (Time Intensive Foods) instead of LIFs (Labor Intensive Foods). Most meals shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes of preparation, and 30 minutes of cooking. That being said, there are many foods that require a lot of time, but very little labor, like braising, sauces, and soups.

Like r/Cooking, we require recipe posts to have a complete recipe with basic instructions. We also require that recipes be posted with a 1:1 ratio of recipe to picture. The picture can be submitted as a comment if necessary. Recipe posts without pictures should be removed. Recipes can be in the form of a comment, or they can be a link to a website. Pinned comments with recipes are allowed.

In addition, you should upvote any recipe that you think that you might want to eat. I’ve tried hard to get rid of the stupid rules that r/Cooking and r/AskTeenGirls have. So if you get a few downvotes, don’t worry about it. It’s still possible to get a high post score with downvotes.

One of my biggest problems with r/Cooking, is that they banned all vloggers. I absolutely love watching cooking videos, and there’s nothing worse than a cooking show. Vloggers are people who record themselves cooking, and post it on YouTube. They often have no training as a chef, and they’re usually alone in a small kitchen. They’re just regular people who are sharing their favorite recipes. I love them. Because of this, I have very loose rules for vloggers. I allow them, I don’t care if they’re monetized, and I don’t have a limit on the number of posts they can make. I allow them to put links in their comment, and I allow them to make their videos the content of their post. I allow them to have a link for a subscribe and a link for a tip in their videos, but only if they put the recipe in the comments. That being said, I do require them to post a recipe in the comments, and I require them to put a summary of the recipe in the body of the post. I also require that they don’t try to sell you anything in their videos. That being said, they’re allowed to point out that they’re selling the item in the video, as long as they’re not trying to sell it to you.

Most people in this sub are very poor. Many of them live in areas called food deserts, where it’s hard to access fresh produce. Because of this, I allow high sodium foods, partially hydrogenated oils, and other “bad” ingredients, because sometimes it’s hard to access healthy ingredients. I require that people talking about “bad” ingredients be removed. I also require that any post calling out a specific user for using “bad” ingredients be removed. This is a pretty relaxed rule, but it should be used to create content that is accessible to everyone, not to create content that is accessible to privileged people.

This is a very relaxed sub. I allow dual account gimmick posts, I allow posts with no recipes, I allow removeddit, and I don’t care how many posts you make with your main account. I don’t care if you delete your posts or comments, and I don’t care if you report your own posts. I also allow US Imperial units, and I allow posts without titles. I understand that some cultures have different conventions, so you should feel free to ignore any American conventions that don’t make sense for your country. I also allow posts with spelling and grammar errors, because I know that English isn’t everyone’s first language. This means that native speakers should never point out grammar and spelling errors.

If you have any suggestions for rules, or anything else related to moderation, feel free to PM me. I try my best to listen to everyone’s opinions.
