I have a friend named Alexi that I've known my entire life but was never in a relationship with. We've been close since childhood, and even though we share the same interests in anime. we have certain differences. For example, he loves catgirls, which I find extremely repulsive. Despite this, we've always been good friends and have been able to put aside our differences.

One day, I asked Alexi why he was so fascinated with catgirls. He shared that he thinks they're cute and that he likes the way they look, but he also mentioned that he's not interested in anything beyond that. I realized that he doesn't fully understand the concept of catgirls and how they can be seen as disgusting or unethical.

I decided to explain more about catgirls to Alexi, intending to do so in a respectful and non-confrontational manner. I started by asking him if he knew what catgirls were in the context of sexual content, and he replied that he thought they were just a type of character in anime. He didn't seem to understand the sexual implications behind catgirls. I gently corrected him, explaining that catgirls are not just cute characters but are actually a sexual fetish.

I wanted to emphasize the importance of differentiating between a sexual fetish and a normal character. I used the example of how people might find a character like Mikasa Ackerman from the anime "Attack on Titan" attractive, but that's different from sexualizing a character like a catgirl. I also explained that while it's okay to find certain characters cute, catgirls are a sexual fetish, and it's not appropriate to sexualize something like that.

Alexi seemed to understand my point, and I could see that he was starting to grasp the concept. He acknowledged that he had been misunderstanding catgirls and that he would be more mindful in the future. I was happy to see that he was able to understand and accept my perspective without getting defensive or upset.

Overall, I'm grateful that I was able to have a respectful conversation with Alexi about catgirls. It just goes to show that even when we have differences, we can still communicate effectively and come to a mutual understanding.
