What is the best way to help the homeless? Dialogue has been dead for years and not a single thing seems to change

I am tired, I’m so tired of seeing news about homeless videos and seeing the same old incredibly useless and polarizing comments year after year. I have never seen this topic have any semblance of sanity with constructive comments. I want people to discuss this in a civilized way. What should we do?

I think the best way is to add more shelters and more mental health facilities to help the homeless with mental issues. I realize that several years ago I was ignorant enough to believe that the homeless were lazy, it wasn’t until I actually spoke to a homeless woman and she was talking about how she was evicted from her house and couldn’t find a job. I realized that not all homeless people are your stereotype “drunk bum”. I see a lot of people arguing that the government should let private enterprise handle the issue, I feel that this is a bad idea seeing as how businesses are interested in making money and won’t put effort into making them better. I also see the argument of increased taxes to help the homeless, but I don’t think that that is a good idea. I don’t think that it is fair to even suggest someone give up a larger portion of their check to help people they don’t even know.

I do think that the government should reallocate funds from other places like our stupid military budget. I think a more democratic government could handle this issue in a more fair and efficient way.
