Why are some recipes so vague

I was going to post a recipe for pork neck chops. It was just me doing a little bit of this, a pinch of that, some of that etc. I have no idea how to write a recipe. If you were to follow my directions it would be inedible. If I had to write a recipe for the pork neck chops I just made I would say 1/4 of a cup of peanut oil, 3 cloves of garlic, a quarter teaspoon of chili powder, a teaspoon of ground cumin, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, salt and pepper, a few sprigs of fresh thyme and a few spriggs of oregano. Then I would say let it marinade for three hours then throw it in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes a side.

But that's not actually true. I used most of the bottle of chili powder. I love chili powder. I also used what I thought was a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper. I do not like salt and pepper. I used what I thought was half a cup of peanut oil, and turned out to be 1/4 of a cup. I used two cloves of garlic and put a third in my gum to freshen my mouth up. I used three sprigs of oregano and five of thyme because oregano is spicy and I don't like spices.

I used the whole bottle of paprika. I love paprika and it is cheap enough to use the whole bottle. I used the whole bag of cumin. I don't know the first thing about cumin. I just know that it is spicy and it is the only spice my wife doesn't like.

I had to work really hard tonight to get my wife to eat dinner. Which was sad because I made extra for her and it was really good.
