Maou Gakuin S2 was so bad, it actually made me hate the light novels.

Proceed at your own risk!#<br><br>I am 100% sure that the anime skipped a lot of the world building that happened in the first 4 volumes of the light novel, but it didn't matter, because it's possible to write a good story even when you don't have a lot of time for world building. That's what the first season proved to me, at least, even if it was rushed as well.<br><br>But this season was something else. I don't think I've ever seen an anime botch the story as much as Maou Gakuin S2 did. I was okay with them skipping stuff in season 1, but I was not okay with the way they changed the story so much. It's not even close to the light novel story anymore. And it's not like they cut out the filler and cringed subplots from the light novels, as I had hoped in my most optimistic moments. <br><br>It's to the point where I am actually starting to hate the light novels as much as I hate the anime now. Every time I think about it, I just remember what happened in the atrociously written and animated adaptation that we just witnessed. <br><br>That's how much damage this season did. I went from liking the light novel to actually somewhat hating it now, all because of the anime. If I wanted to read some stupid nonsense about a dumb, overpowered self insert, I'd read some random webnovel instead of wasting my time on this piece of shit.<br><br>I don't even want to read the light novels anymore. I just want to forget about this wasted potential. When I think about what this story could have been, if it was handled by anyone else, I just feel empty and angry.<br><br>I don't think I've seen any other anime adaptation single handedly ruin the source material for me like this before. Normally I am able to separate the adaptation from the original, but in this case, I just can't. Every time I think about the story, I think about the garbage that was put in front of me.<br><br>I'm done. I am not going to waste my time reading the light novels. I am not going to waste my time on season 3, and I will make sure that nobody I know ever watches this piece of shit.<br><br>This is the worst adaptation I've ever witnessed, and it has actually ruined the original for me.
