My ex boyfriend kidnapped me

This happened years ago, it’s a defining moment in my life, and I don’t think it would fit on any other sub.

My ex boyfriend managed to get the address of my new home after me and him split up. He used to message me constantly to try and win me back but I always declined. He called me on my birthday to try and get me to meet up with him even though he was blocked on social media. After he called he sent me this message: “I’m probably not allowed to say it but I love you so much. I almost called you 3 times today to try and get you to come meet me up but obviously didn’t want to over do it. Just wanted to let you know I’ve spent the day thinking about how we could patch things up and honestly it’s just the best feeling ever to even hope that we can be together again. Just wanted to let you know that I’ve spent my whole day thinking about us and how we can work things out. Even if it takes forever I’ll wait for you. I love you” (I didn’t answer him)

One month later when I was sleeping, at 2:17am a guy I didn’t know messaged me out of the blue. It said “Hi, you don’t know me but I’m your ex boyfriend’s friend”. I thought it was my ex boyfriend pretending to be his friend so I replied “Who is this?” And he replied “His friend, can you meet him in the car park of a bar down the road?” Again I thought this was my ex trying to get me to come out of the house so I said yes. He told me to come now that my ex was “waiting” and I said ok.

I literally felt like I was in a movie, I didn’t think it would work but I went outside and it was 3am. The streets were empty and there was one guy leaning against a car, my ex. I actually cannot believe what he did. He told this guy to message me so I’d do what he said and come out. I was waiting for him to jump out at me with a bat or knife or something, it was honestly so scary. So I went back inside my house and locked the door, I was so fucking angry at him and I didn’t know what to do to protect myself.

This is the first time in over a year that I talk about this. Strange how people can do something like this and still get on with their lives like nothing happened.
